Profile
Linetime develop, supply and support integrated IT solutions for the legal profession. Quality is our hallmark, from software design, development and support, to our dedication to installation, training and customer service.
Throughout the 80’s and 90’s Linetime continued to develop its portfolio of products. This grew to include both Legal Practice Management and Legal Case Management systems. Linetime also specialises in niche areas such as debt recovery – their DebtimeSQL package became an acknowledged market leader in its field.
In 1996 Linetime were a founding member of the LSSA and continue to participate closely in its activities, previously holding the chairmanship and other committee roles.
Their philosophy has always been to provide a complete portfolio of both application software and associated support services. This gives customers the option of a “one stop solution”. Where appropriate this is achieved through strategic alliances with third-party providers. These include hardware suppliers, maintenance organisations and developers of ‘niche’ added-value products. These relationships have expanded and matured over the years to create a well rounded and experienced business partner to the legal profession.
In February 2000 Linetime commenced the development of Liberate what was to become the first truly integrated legal software suite available to the UK legal sector. Linetime realised that this type of product offered users tremendous benefits and chose to completely rewrite their whole software portfolio using the most advanced technology available.
The resultant product, Liberate, was built to operate in a Microsoft SQL Server environment and to make optimum use of leading mainstream products such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Exchange.
Customer shipments began in July 2001 and Liberate products are now delivering benefits to over 9000 legal professionals throughout the UK and overseas. Installations range from 3 to 300 users, all benefiting from the single database approach. These benefits have been extended by the introduction of comprehensive Customer Relationship Marketing facilities (Liberate Contact Marketing) and sophisticated reporting tools (Liberate Report Generator and MyView.NET).
2002 saw the expanding Linetime training department attain TAP accreditation. Their training courses can now be used to gain CPD points as well as detailed administration and user knowledge of the Liberate system.
In 2004 Linetime began developing using the Microsoft .NET architecture and have launched several .NET based products. Their efforts in this area saw them become the first legal software supplier to be recognised by Microsoft as .NET specialists, and receiving appropriate accreditation.
Linetime commenced development in 2005 of Liberate Express - an exciting new document and matter management system. Express can be used in harmony with the rest of Liberate but caters for the non-procedural “ad-hoc” worker and assists compliance and adherence to standards across all desks.
In the same year Liberate completed a 200 seat roll out of the Liberate practice management system within a top 250 firm. This coincided with the expansion of several existing Liberate sites to beyond the 200 user level. Linetime remain committed to the concept of upward scalability in response to the trend for amalgamation and growth within legal firms.
In 2009 Linetime launched Liberate Signature Edition Case Management (SE) software written in .NET.
Business wins for this new look case management includes Leeds Day who comment:
- The comprehensive functionality within the core system and the integration between the accounts and case management modules. This has enabled us already to identify several areas for immediate operational improvement.
- The commitment of Linetime to develop products using mainstream Microsoft technologies, particularly Microsoft SQLServer and .NET. This provides the high level of investment protection we were looking for.
- The ‘customizability‘of the Liberate Signature Edition case management system means we can tailor the core system to our exact and changing requirements.
