Some of the Popular Software Features within Liberate by Linetime
Billing Wizard
Timely and accurate billing is central to any successful practice. Liberate allows bills to be automatically scheduled – per client if so desired. Frequency can be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually. Interim bills can also be produced if required. Bill production can also be incorporated as part of other scheduled activity e.g. production of the completion statement. Should clients require consolidated bills Liberate can also create “multi-matter” bills. These can be generated en masse or for specific fee-earners, clients, groups, matter types and departments.
Interruption Management
One of the great bugbears for fee earners has to be interruption by telephone. Both internal and external calls can mean breaking off from your current task in order to access different files and sources of information. Liberate solves this by allowing any number of sessions to be open at any time so fee earners don’t have to close down the screen they are in. The system also provides a number of hotkey functions to get you back to where you were. If the enquiry is particularly hurried then simply make a free format note. Any number of notes can be parked up and allocated to a case once the call has been dealt with. The phone may still ring but with Liberate you can manage the interruption with minimal inconvenience.
Start that Clock
Much of the activity within Liberate can trigger automatic time recording. The system provides for an unlimited number of “clocks” to be stopped and started as required. Users can also “peg” items in their last used list allowing quick reference to previously accessed files. Obviously, only one clock can actually be running at any one time! - SAR’s rules. Default work types can be attached to e.g. incoming and outgoing calls allowing fast and accurate logging of activity. Users can be reminded of any unposted time with the option of a “sweep up” at the end of the day to post any “held items”.
Find that File
Liberate offers a number of different ways to find a file. From rapid access last used lists, quick search and advanced options that search within the document history. If it’s in the system then Liberate will find it. The advanced search comes as a free component with Liberate and harnesses the power of the Windows search engine to deliver comprehensive results. Coupled with the fact that Liberate can store all your correspondence (including emails) both inward and outward bound this becomes an essential feature allowing multiple users to “safely” access the same file at the same time.
Manage the ad hoc as well as the complex
Often systems restrict the user to working in a particular way. This is useful to ensure practice standards are adhered to. There are however occasions where controlled deviations are required. Liberate provides authorised users the flexibility to cater for these occasions for example by allowing a bespoke case plan for an individual matter to be readily built. Liberate allows a real mix and match in terms of working practice because it’s variable blend of case AND matter management. This ensures users benefit from controls regarding house style and risk management but where appropriate people can work as they need to.
Who’s Doing What and With Whom
Liberate allows permitted users to quickly access the to-do-lists and work history of other operators. This provides huge benefits if colleagues are ill or on holiday. Work can be electronically transferred to other team members. This gives management the ability to streamline processes and maximise efficiency by analysing bottlenecks and trends within working practice.
