Linetime, the Leeds based legal software experts has recently announced the availability of an innovative and unique addition to its award winning Liberate suite of software.
Firm’s involved in the conveyancing of private or commercial property all know that the Revenue’s Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms are extremely complex and time consuming to complete and submit.
Currently these forms can be completed online directly with HMRC. Liberates e-SDLT goes much further and provides an automated link between the conveyancing case management system and the HMRC site.
The e-SDLT module saves an enormous amount of time by removing the need to re key information. It also ensures a greater degree of accuracy whilst providing significant improvements in efficiency and ultimately profitability.
Data already captured within the case management system is transferred to HMRC at the press of a button. The system then receives a certificate number electronically from HMRC allowing production of the SDLT5 – all in one quick process.
For users wishing to gain further efficiencies the system can automatically request a cheque for the land tax complete with the unique payee name or alternatively produce a printed request for a bacs transfer.
Following on from the Pay As You Go payment method introduced recently for Debt Recovery sales, the product is priced per completed transaction rather than, up front capital costs.
The SDLT module integrates seamlessly with the Liberate single database system and means that the conveyancer can now: complete a purchase; submit the SDLT 1 and 2 forms; receive confirmation to allow production of the SDLT 5 certificate; pay the Stamp Duty; Apply for registration and Close the case file, all on the same day as completion.
